What is the HR Community?
The HR Community at HRSINGAPORE is and always has been the first, free, online HR Community Forum for HR practitioners in Singapore and the region since 1998. The HR Community is free to join and it will always be free for all HR people.
Am I a Community Subscriber?
Our HR Community Subscribers receive emails containing HR questions and answers daily. If you are not participating in our HR forum discussions, it is unlikely that you are in our HR Community.
What are the benefits of joining the HR Community?

When will I receive the Course Confirmation after registering?
An acknowledgment email will be sent after when you have registered online successfully. Once the training course is confirmed, we will send you the course confirmation via email.
How many times are the Courses and workshops held in a year?
This is dependent on individual training programs. You can join our mailing list if you wish to be updated on upcoming courses and workshops.
How do I register myself or my colleagues for a training program?
You can register online for any of HR Courses using our Registration Form or send an email to email@example.com
The information we require for email registration is as follows:

- Participant's Full Name, NRIC/FIN, Email & Mobile
- Organisation or Company Name or Self-Sponsored

How many participants are there in your training programmes?
We limit the maximum number of participants for all our courses to practice safe management at the venues where our courses are held.
What safe management practices are implemented at your training venues?
Traditional classroom settings with only ONE participant at each table, with a distance of one meter apart from another, and all participants, have to wear a mask during the training (including the trainer). Tea-break refreshment and lunch food items are carefully prepared in a hygiene kitchen and packed into bento boxes to avoid contamination. Drinks are being served by the service staff who wear masks. All training rooms, tables, and chairs are disinfected daily and there are cleaners going around every hour to clean the lift buttons, common doorknobs, and handles. Toilets are also cleaned several times a day.
Can foreigners register for the Course?
Yes. We welcome participants from overseas who are sponsored by their organisations. We regularly have participants from overseas attending our courses in Singapore.
Do you provide jobs or placements for foreign or overseas participants?
No, we are not a recruitment company. We only provide HR certification courses, HRLAW seminars, HR workshops, and HR consultancy services.
Do you provide invitation letters or visas for overseas participants?
No, overseas participants will have to approach the Singapore Embassy or High Commission to apply for a visa if it is required for entry into Singapore by their respective countries.
Do you assist to arrange accommodation for overseas participants?
No, overseas participants have to arrange their own accommodation.
If I have no background in HR, which course should I attend?
You may wish to consider our Certified Human Resource Administrator (CHRA)® Course. This is an entry-level course where participants will learn about the latest up-to-date employment laws and HR functions, gain the required knowledge and develop skills in key areas of HR and be able to embark on an exciting, challenging, and rewarding career in the Human Resource profession. Will there be any make up classes if I miss one or more modules for the Certified courses?
We will arrange for you to attend the make-up class during the next confirmed intake. You will be required to complete all modules within 2 years before we can award you the Certificate of Competency.
Where can I find information about the cost and logistics?

Where do you conduct your training programmes?
Our training programs are conducted in hotel seminar rooms in the central vicinity of Singapore. The details about the location etc. will be in the confirmation email sent to the participants and contact persons.
Will I get a hard copy invoice?
A hard copy invoice is usually posted together with the confirmation. You may also request for an e-invoice.
When will I receive the course confirmation?
Once the training programme is confirmed, we will send you the confirmation via email.
When is the closing date for the registration of the courses?
Our closing date is about 10 days before the course commencement date of the course.
Will I receive a Certificate of Attendance?
Yes, a Certificate of Attendance will be issued at the end of the course.
If you had attended one of our HR Certification courses and completed the course successfully, you will receive a Certificate of Competency.
Is there any pre-requisite for your Certified Courses?
You may refer to the “Who Should Attend” or “Entry Requirement” section under the heading “Course Details” on the course websites.
Are there examinations for your Certified Courses?
There is no written examination but competency-based assessments will be administered at every module of the course. Participants must complete all modules and assessments before receiving the Certificate of Competency.
Is your Certificate of Competency recognized?
Recognition is always subjected to individual employers. We have been conducting HR Certification courses for the past 10 years and numerous organizations including Government Ministries and Statutory Boards, MNCs and SMEs have sponsored their employees for these professional programmes.

Is halal or vegetarian food or halal food available during the training?
Yes, you can either indicate your food preference when you registered for our full-day programme or inform us on the day of training at the registration counter.
Are complimentary car park coupons available?
Yes, complimentary car park coupons are available on a first-come-first-basis. Participants are encouraged to take public transport as our training venues (hotels located in the city area) are easily accessible by public transport.
Is there a nursing room available?
A nursing room can be arranged if required, inform us 3 days in advance. However, the nursing room is subjected to the Hotel's availability.
Can payment be made on the day of the course?
Yes, please hand your cheque or cash payment to our representative at the reception table when you arrive.
Can I get your yearly training calendar?
Our quarterly training calendar can be viewed at hrsingapore.org/training.

Is there funding for your courses?
The types of funding available are shown on each course website under the heading "Funding".
The usual kinds of training support from government agencies are as follows:
- SkillsFuture Funding for company-sponsored
- SkillsFuture Funding for company-sponsored participants are applicable to Singaporeans and PRs. For self-sponsored participants, please refer to SkillsFuture Credit below.
- The grant amount is S$2 per training hour. For example, if the course fee is S$680 for a 1-day 7-hour workshop, the grant amount is S$14 (7 training hours x S$2). The nett fee payable after deducting the S$14 grant is S$666.
- If the participant is eligible for the funding, we will invoice according to the nett fee. We (training provider) will submit the trainees' enrolment data to SSG and the grant amount will be disbursed to us directly. No further action is required on the part of the participating companies.
- SkillsFuture Credit
- SkillsFuture Credit is for self-sponsored participants who are Singaporeans aged 25 and above. For company-sponsored participants, please refer to "SkillsFuture Funding for company-sponsored" above.
- You can use your SkillsFuture Credit to offset the course fee. The credit that can be utilized is dependent on your SkillsFuture account balance click here to login to your SkillsFuture account to check your balance). For example, if the course fee is S$680 and you have S$500 available in your SkillsFuture account, the fee payable will be S$180 (S$680 -S$500).
Do note that the Career Transition Credit (for Singaporeans aged 40 and above) is not applicable for our courses and cannot be used to offset the course fee.
- Participants who wish to use their SkillsFuture Credit must submit their application within 60 days before the course start date. The credit will be disbursed to us (training provider) upon course completion.
- Do note that employers are not allowed to use individuals’ SkillsFuture Credit to pay (either in full or partial) for employer-sponsored courses. It has to be fully self-sponsored.
- UTAP Funding
- This funding is for NTUC Union members and is applicable to selected courses.
- The grant amount is capped at $250 per year. NTUC members aged 40 and above can enjoy higher funding support up to $500 per individual each year (for courses attended between 1 July 2020 to 31 December 2022).
- Participants have to apply to NTUC for the UTAP Funding upon course completion as the grant will be disbursed directly to them.

Does the course fee include GST?
There is no GST involved.
Can I pay by Credit Card?
Yes, you can pay by Visa, Mastercard, eNets, cash, or cheque. Please indicate which is your preferred mode of payment when you send us your registration form.
Is an instalment plan available?
We would request that you make payment via credit card.
When do I need to make payment for the programme?
Once the programme that you registered for is confirmed, we will send you an electronic invoice. Hard copy invoices can be sent upon your request. Payments have to reach us before the commencement of the programmes.
Can I get a refund if I am not able to attend the course but have already made payment?
We will only issue credit vouchers in place of refunds. The credit voucher is valid for 1 year and can be used on a course of similar value or as an offset for a course of higher value.
What are the available modes of payment?
Payments by your organisation can be made by either bank transfer, cheque, IBG, or Telegraphic Transfer.
If I wish to use my Skills Future Credit, do I have to pay the full fee to HRSINGAPORE?
You have to log in to your account at http://www.skillsfuture.sg/credit and send us a screenshot of your account summary for verification. We will then prepare the invoice after deducting the Skills Future Credit amount.
