Question
Hi HR Practitioners,
Need your advise. For executive staff with 6 months probation period, do you grant annual leave after confirmation or require to give after 3 months of service.
Thank you for your support.

We give after the 3 month period as per MOM regulation.

Hi, if they are covered under the employment act, they will be entitled to AL after 3 months of service, regardless of confirmation.

It makes sense to follow the Employment Act which grants annual leave upon completion of 3 months’ service, regardless of probation period. Some companies may even choose to grant annual leave right from the start.

My company gives paid leave after 3 months of service even probation is 6 months. This is in line with the MOM regulations as well (leave entitlement starts from 3 months of service).
