Mileage Claim
QUESTION
Hi HR Practitioners,
We have a staff who drives his own car and the company is already providing him a monthly transport allowance to cover petrol, maintenance, parking and ERP.
Recently he went to Johor to meet a customer and he is claiming for mileage and toll. Does anyone have a similar experience or can share with me what is your company policy on out of town trip to meet customers.
Greatly appreciate your sharing,
Sue

Our staff who drive into Malaysia for official duties can claim for mileage. S$0.25cts/km for those who are given monthly transport allowance and S$0.35cts/km for those who are not.

We don't have such policy. It's the employee's sole decision to drive his own car for overseas business trip. The maximum we do is to reimburse his petrol, parking and toll charges.

We have a similar situation in our company. We allow staff to claim mileage, all toll fees when they need to travel into Malaysia. This claim is additional to their monthly transport allowance which is given for travel within
Singapore.

The company has already provided whole transport package on monthly basic.
He is not eligible for additional claim.

My company provide car allowance for travel within Singapore only. Travel outside Singapore will be reimbursed at 70 cents per km.
