Public Holiday that falls on Sundays, Monday is a gazetted public holiday.
For PH that falls on Saturday, if the company done give off in-lieu or replacement off days for Executive & Manager that is on 5 days work week (those not cover under Employment Act). Any violation to the law?
Please share if any of the company that you have work having this practice?
1. Just give them the off in lieu ,it’s a market practice if its fall on Saturday. Also, it’s a sour taste in people month. We only have 11 PH in SG. Why should we worry about the max 1 to 3 PH that falls on Sat.
2. Just to share that our company will credit an additional 1 day off in lieu into the staff leave balance for all public holidays fall on Saturday. So the staff can utilise it whenever they want. We treat all staff the same regardless is junior or manager position.
